Winter in Svalbard - Spitzbergen
I thought the summer climate in Spitsbergen was unfriendly - completely wrong! Go there in winter - you can expect the freezing cold of -20 degrees Celsius (-4 °F). When icy winds are added, the felt temperatures quickly reach -40 degrees( (°C / °F) . Fortunately someone invented the warm scooter suit, the snowmobile and warm gloves. The efforts have paid off.
